Pet Insurance — How It Works

Pet insurance helps you afford unexpected medical care for your pet.
Unlike human insurance, veterinary hospitals do not receive payment directly from majority of insurance companies. Instead, pet insurance works on a reimbursement system.

Here’s the process:

1. We examine and treat your pet as needed

2. You pay the invoice at checkout

3. You submit the claim to your insurance company (usually through an app)

4. The insurance company reimburses you based on your plan

5. Most plans reimburse 70–90% after your deductible.

Important notes:

- Coverage depends on your individual policy

- Pre-existing conditions are typically not covered

- We gladly provide all medical records needed for claims

- Enrolling when your pet is young and healthy usually provides the best lifelong coverage.
